Federal EV Incentive: Up to $5,000 Off an Eligible New EV
We’re a participating dealer in the federal Electric Vehicle Affordability Program. If you and your vehicle qualify, we apply the incentive for you, right on your bill of sale or lease agreement. There’s no rebate form for you to file yourself.
How much is it?
- Up to $5,000 on an eligible new battery-electric vehicle in 2026.
- Up to $2,500 on an eligible new plug-in hybrid in 2026.
- The amounts go down in later years (to $4,000 and $2,000 in 2027). The amount you get is set by the date we submit your eligibility check.
- The incentive comes off after taxes are calculated.
Who and what qualifies?
- New vehicles bought or leased between February 16, 2026 and March 31, 2031, or until the program’s funding runs out.
- The vehicle’s final transaction value must be $50,000 or less. Vehicles built in Canada have no price limit.
- Leases of 48 months or longer get the full amount. Leases of 12 to 47 months get a prorated amount. Leases shorter than 12 months don’t qualify.
- Each person can receive the incentive once over the life of the program.
- Whether a vehicle qualifies depends on the model, trim and final price. For example, the 2026 Mustang Mach-E Select and Premium can qualify when the final price is $50,000 or less. The GT and Rally are not on the program’s vehicle list.
Ask us to confirm that the vehicle you’re looking at qualifies before you decide.
How it works with us
- Choose your vehicle. We check that it qualifies and that the final price is within the limit.
- Before we finalize your purchase or lease, we submit your eligibility check to Transport Canada, with your signed consent form.
- Once it’s approved, the incentive comes off your bill of sale or lease agreement.
What about the B.C. rebate?
The province’s CleanBC Go Electric passenger vehicle rebate is paused, and B.C. is not accepting new applications. The province lists its other Go Electric programs at goelectricbc.gov.bc.ca.
